Fall Cleaning Checklist - You Don't Have to Wait until Spring!
- Its time to Clean out your garage and make space while the weather is nice.
- Organize your pots and pans... maybe have a display rack.
- Check your roof and gutters and remove any debris prior to winter.
- Get the fall pollen off... Power wash the outside of the house, including windows.
- Don't forget a good cleaning of the inside windows too. Vacuum out the tracks.
- Drain the sediment from your hot water heater as this will prolong its usefulness.
- Do you like to donate? Clean out old clothes out of the closet and drawers of items you haven't worn in over two years.
- Smoke or Pet Smells.... consider Washing your walls using 1/2 cup ammonia, 1/4 cup white vinegar and 1/4 cup baking soda to 1 gallon of warm water.
- Its a great time to clean all window blinds and curtains if needed.
- Dust and wash light fixtures, lamps shades and chandeliers.
- Wash all knickknacks. Vacuum books and shelves.
- Replace lightbulbs and new batteries in smoke detectors.
- Deep clean shower, toilet, floor and sink.
- Inventory your medicine cabinet and time to toss expired medicines.
- Fresh baking soda for the freezer (if needed) and refrigerator. Empty old ice. Clean all shelves.
- Clean oven and soak stove rings and drip pans.
- Vacuum front coils and motor to remove dust and dirt from the refrigerator.
- Launder all blankets and bedding. Turn over your mattresses.
- Move furniture and vacuum underneath thoroughly. Shampoo carpets. Steam clean tile floors and seal grout.
- Have a garage sale.
